MEDICAL MISSION

Medical missions were conducted in various cities and districts in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. Medical check-ups for children and the other people in the community were done in cooperation with volunteer doctors, dentists, optometrists and nurses. Medicines and vitamins were also distributed to patients based on the prescription of their attending physicians.
These were accomplished in the following areas:
a. Nasugbu, Batangas – March 11, 2006
b. Trece Martirez, Cavite – March 19, 2006
c. Dist. 2 Tondo – March 25, 2006

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE 2006

On April 20, 2006 the Mission Team of Mother of Divine Providence Parish of Payatas-A, Quezon City requested for medicines. Their supplies were insufficient to accommodate their target beneficiaries. In response, LGDFI requested the Office of CIBAC Party List Rep. Emmanuel Joel J. Villanueva to provide additional pharmacological supplies for their needs. The supplies arrived a day before the program started.
Medical assistance was also extended to patients of various towns in Region 3. Assistance was released based on the recommendation of Barangay officials. The following documents were required from the beneficiaries: medical abstracts, barangay clearance and identification cards. Project funding was approved and released by DSWD Region 3.

Financial Assistance 2006

The Community Nutrition Students of UP Diliman requested for financial assistance for their “Edukasyong Pang-Nutrisyon, Hit na hit sa Tag-Init” activity as an academic requirement in their course Nutrition Education and Training II. Held last April 27 and May 9, 2006 at Purok 13, Commonwealth Ave. Quezon City, the activity received three thousand pesos (P3,000.00) to support the much-needed education program for the families. LGDFI also provided food and beverage for the participants of the activity. The community has 357 low-income households. Based on the situational analysis by the UP students, the mothers should be educated in preparing low-cost but nutritious meals for their families.
